Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila (LALMONIRHAT district) with an area of 259.54 sq km, is bounded by Cooch Bihar district of WEST BENGAL (India) and ADITMARI upazila on the north, KAUNIA and RAJARHAT upazilas on the south, PHULBARI (Kurigram) and RAJARHAT upazilas on the east, Aditmari and GANGACHARA upazilas on the west. Aditmari Upazila (LALMONIRHAT district) with an area of 195.03 sq km is bounded by Dinhata Thana of Kuchbihar district of India on the north, GANGACHARA upazilaon the south, LALMONIRHAT SADAR upazila on the east and KALIGANJ upazila on the west. The TISTA, Trimohoni and DHARLA rivers cause basinal flood every year. Rivers Sharnamati and Marashati are silted and almost dead.
